Research Triangle Park, N.C. - December 4, 2009 - Digitalsmiths, the innovative multi-screen media analysis, operations and publishing technology provider, today announced the newest version of its flagship product, VideoSense®.

With the arrival of VideoSense 2.5, the leading studio-grade, digital media management system has been enhanced with new tools to streamline asset management, harness advanced intelligence and analytics and optimize monetization opportunities.

The new tools include direct asset upload, easy segment editing, advanced clip creation, YouTube integration and an all new reporting dashboard for analytics.

(More detail follows below.)

“Digitalsmiths provides an unmatched level of studio-grade digital media management for premium content holders - and VideoSense 2.5 further solidifies our position in the market,” said Ben Weinberger, CEO and co-founder, Digitalsmiths.  “The team here at Digitalsmiths has outdone itself with this new upgrade, and we look forward to helping still more studios and library owners develop their multi-platform digital media and monetization strategies with VideoSense 2.5.”

VideoSense 2.5 features include:

Streamline Asset Management

  • Direct Asset Upload - Users can now upload an asset directly from their desktop to VideoSense and add asset-level metadata manually, granting greater flexibility and control. Once the asset is uploaded, users can associate it with previously defined assets that are already in VideoSense, resulting in faster content scheduling and publication.
  • Easy Segment Editing - Creating segments and metadata tracks in MetaFrameTM has never been easier. Digitalsmiths has enhanced the user interface to provide new and simpler ways to create and edit time-based metadata.
  • Advanced Ad Break Management - New management features enable VideoSense users to turn off all ads within an asset when scheduling it for distribution.
  • Tag Management and Filtering - Advanced VideoSense 2.5 features allow users to create tags on assets and filter the user asset list to quickly retrieve assets in the system and improve management.

Optimize Monetization Opportunities

  • Clip Creation - Through a new user interface purpose-built for clip generation and management, VideoSense allows users to create clips from any segment on any MetaFrame track. This will permit users to introduce their content to new audiences, increase viewer engagement and consumption, and open up new monetization opportunities.
  • Multi-Thumbnail Support - Users can now create multiple thumbnails for each asset in VideoSense for maximum flexibility. Advanced features allow the user to pinpoint the exact frame of video he or she wants to showcase, creating a completely customized thumbnail palette.
  • YouTube Integration - To help build audience and increase consumption, users can now publish their content in VideoSense directly to YouTube.

Harness Advanced Intelligence and Analytics

  • New Reporting Dashboard - Advanced analytics capabilities provide deeper insight into video content performance so users can quickly spot trends and identify new revenue opportunities. Multiple new reports are available, including hours viewed, streams viewed and unique users by distribution partner.
